Enjoy our stories of Tasmania's wild west and our wilderness cruises from Strahan

Tasmania's West Coast is a place like no other.  The wilderness here is rugged and the stories that have forged the characters of today run as deep as the cool water of the Gordon River.  Strahan is the western launchpad for the UNESCO Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area and we are here to help you explore it.

The teams at Gordon River Cruises and Strahan Village could not be prouder of our very own Sam Graudins, for winning the 2016 Tasmanian Hospitality Association’s (THA) ‘Rising Star Award’.

Sam was announced as the winner of the award at the THA’s annual awards gala dinner on Monday 29th August.

Sam is a cruise guide with Gordon River Cruises and consistently strives to deliver the best possible guest experience and interpretation. Sam recently broadened his skill set with a working secondment to Freycinet Lodge but we’re happy to say he’ll be returning to Tasmania’s west to cruise with Gordon River Cruises again this spring.

As part of Sam’s award, he will travel on a tourism industry – focused trip to New Zealand with fellow Tasmanian operators to look at some industry best practices. Sam hopes the tour will bolster his knowledge of interpretive and nature-based tourism.

From all of us at Gordon River Cruises, Strahan Village and RACT Destinations, a huge congratulations to Sam for his outstanding achievement.
