Spirit of the Wild is like no other vessel to cruise on the Gordon River. She is a 33.8m catamaran, purpose-built for cruising in the sensitive environment of the UNESCO Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.

Tannin-like finishes ensure she almost vanishes on the water. Her unique hybrid-propulsion system featuring electic motors, allow for quiet cruising while on the Gordon River, making for an unforgettable and immserive experience in this incredible environment.

Spirit of the Wild's interior is nothing short of spectacular. She features two interior decks, each with floor-to-ceiling glass to maximise viewing, while her superb finishes pay respect to the colours of the surrounding environment.

The Main Deck offers Central and Window seating, as well as a galley, bar and viewing deck. The Premier Upper Deck offers angled leather recliners, Tasmanian Hydrowood finishes, a lounge area and private viewing deck.

The viewing deck at the top of the vessel is open to all visitors and offers spectacular 360° views.

Main Deck

The Main Deck of Spirit of the Wild offers a choice of Central and Window seating.

In the rear section of the Main Deck, Central seating faces the stern of the vessel, offering a unique view. Lounges in the forward section of the Main Deck are also included in Central seating. Main Deck Window seating is orientated in pairs, with one window and one aisle seat. These seats are leather recliners, offering an extra degree of comfort.

All seats on the Main Deck include a chef-prepared buffet lunch. A cash bar is available if you'd like to purchase drinks.

Premier Upper Deck

The Premier Upper Deck is Gordon River Cruises’ premium wilderness experience, boasting leather recliner seats, a private viewing deck, a gourmet lunch of local delicacies and an open bar for the duration of your cruise.

Indulge in fresh seafood, Tasmanian cheeses and selected regional specialties, accompanied by complimentary Tasmanian wines and premium beers. All seats in the Premier Upper Deck are orientated in pairs, with one window and one aisle seat.

What an absolutely amazing experience aboard The Spirit of the Wild! Do yourself a favor and book the Premier Upper Deck - the service was warm, courteous and super welcoming! Sarah did an amazing job of looking after us all with plenty of food and wine. The vessel itself is magnificent and the tours guides do an amazing job as well.

Spirit of the Wild

Went out on the Spirit of the Wild today and had the most fabulous day. Right from the start, the crew and the food were lovely, and the destinations were very interesting. Hannah with her informative commentary, Eliza and Sam who looked after us so well and a shout out to Captain Ben. My partner and I treated ourselves to the Premier Upper Deck for our anniversary and in our opinion was well worth the extra spend. The lounge-style angled seats were comfortable and the floor to ceiling windows gave fantastic views. The ability of the vessel to turn to electric motors while cruising the Gordon River made for a quiet and reflective experience. We very much recommend Gordon River Cruises if you are thinking of heading to Strahan.
